xAPI Cybersecurity: Intro to the IEEE P9274.4.2 Working Group
You’ve got issues
Your LRS implements API authentication or authorization that is nonstandard, outdated, or otherwise known to be vulnerable to attack. What do you do?
Your LRP exposes unencrypted LRS credentials to users of a web browser or exposes its connection to the LRS by other means. How do you fix this?
You can’t tell if an LRP or LRS is authentic. What in the world?
We need a standard for xAPI cybersecurity
If you’ve found yourself grappling with these and other cybersecurity questions in your xAPI implementation, then you need to join the IEEE’s working group on xAPI cybersecurity.
As a formal IEEE standards activity, the P9274.4.2 working group on xAPI cybersecurity is free to join and open to the public. Check out the draft standard and be sure to keep up to date with our monthly call-in sessions — at 2:30pm Eastern on the first Tuesday of each month (call in details below). For more in-depth info about the work we are doing, please see the original IEEE project authorization request.
Join the call
The IEEE xAPI Cybersecurity Working Group meets the first Thursday of each month at 2:30pm Eastern.
